I love that leather number 7 on that traditional bed in the first picture ... and that wall color in picture 4 is sooo perfect! And what about that big world map on the wall! Perfect!

So much inspiration can be taken from old movie stills, and incorporated into a modern interior. Currently I'm mad about the grey, white and chartreuse in picture 2 ...I could totally see this in a contemporary interior...in fact I think I could move straight into that interior...

Which is your favorite frame? Or do you really hate this style? I'd love to know :-)

Don't you just love all the reruns of old series in the summer? I was hoping for a rerun of my favorite series The man from U.N.C.L.E, but until then I'm doing a small rerun of my favorite stills here :-) Enjoy!

The man from U.N.C.L.E is so fun with its super cool set design, stylish outfits and lots of wild cars, jets and helicopters...and that groovy music ;-) Besides Robert Vaughn is awsome as Napoleon Solo! Beats Bond anyday!

Since we are om the topic of blue and chartreuse... here is an image from Nanette Lepores apartment. Her taste is obviously exquisit, but what do you think of the red union jack pillow? I'm not convinced about the pillow , but I'm dying for a sofa like hers, and and those vintage ostrich feather like sconces are quite stunning!

Interior designer Frank Roops eclectic apartment keeps mezmerizing me. Going through some old magazines today I stumbled across it, and realized I love it even more now than the first time I saw it. I'm impressed with the balance he has created between modern and vintage, and the way he makes strong bold colors seem so calm, and not at all overpowering in his interiors. The blue color used in Frank Roops apartment, and in other of his interiors are a long time favorite of mine. I fell in love with it the first time I visited the house of my husbands parents, and saw a sofa upholstered in a jewel colored blue fabric. Combined with chartreuse this is another favorite color combination of mine this autumn.

Lately I've been following the talented Mellissa of The inspired room, and her series of Observation posts. Through her insight I've learnt to see interiors from an observer point of view, analysing the different elements, and appriciating them on a whole different level. Its really a must see collection of posts!

Obviously I'm not quite normal....

After reading about this quizz over at How About Orange I decided it was time I found my style! The result was rather surprising, as apparently I'm

"the consummate international playboy, at home around the world, but never more so than in your elegant 'pad' with its emphasis on hedonism and the finer things in life"..... ?!!

 

Admittedly I've always wanted a 1967 Shelby Mustang, but I don't think they've been checking out my plum season post ?! Somehow I think they must have got me mixed up with The Husband....

Just a quick bulb planting tip this evening! For the best looking Spring garden be sure to mass plant your bulbs this autumn. Don't follow the instruction on the package, instead plant as many bulbs you can fit in to the designated space without them touching each other. And don't do the row thing either ....it looks much more natural if you just plant out your bulbs randomly.

Look for online retailers who does 100 single variety bulb packages for a cheap prize.

Have you visited the Horchow website lately? I've always been loving Horchow for its classic, eclectic mix of furniture and decor, but this seson they seems to have outdone themself! Their new arrivals this season are stunning, and their images are so inspirational! I also love the styling they've done with each of their pieces, inspiering their customers on how to make them work in their own home.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and support this weekend! I so needed it, as finding my Jacko dead left me devestated. I still am, but thinking of all my wonderful friends, both bloggers and non bloggers, makes it easier to deal with the loss of my little friend.

Sad day...

I found my African Grey parrot, Jacko, dead this afternoon.

My mom got him for me when I was 5, so it feels like we've been together forever. For the past years he's kept my parents company, and only stayed with us during the summer.

He became 30 years, so it was very unexpected as the average life span of African Grey's are 50. He seemed fine only an hour before I found him....I still cannot belive he's gone.....
